Hey Paolo, such an amazing cover as always! That was such a great series and it looks like it was a lot of fun to paint:)
ReplyDeleteWith your traditional process, when you print out a digital sketch in sepia tones on Strathmore 500 series and then paint on top what type of printer do you use? I was curious because I'd like to buy the right type of inkjet printer at some point, but I also was considering for now since I don't have that type of printer going to a local print shop. I wanted to print a digital drawing in sepia onto bristol and then ink/watercolor from there. The only thing is most places print with LaserJet printers and I wasn't sure if laserjet would be okay to print on Strathmore and to work on top of traditionally as well? Thanks so much Paolo, your generous advice on the painting/illustration process over the years has been invaluable to me!
Hey, Jeremy! I use the P400, but I think it's been discontinued. I think the P700 is supposed to replace it. Just look for the ability to print on thick media. Mine also uses pigment inks, which hold up well to additional painting.
DeleteBut if you can find a local print shop, that's often a cheaper alternative. I did that once and it turned out great. Good luck!
Awesome, thanks so much Paolo! I really appreciate it!
