For this portrait I used a Hulk model that I had sculpted previously in Sculptris (time lapse video of the sculpting process
here). I exported the model as a .obj file and lit it in Photoshop, a nice option for quick and dirty reference.
I switched to gouache instead of watercolor for this portrait (among the many others I did for last year's New York Comic Con). The process is mostly the same, but it allows for some opaque effects if needed.
