Hoo boy, I've got a lot on my plate right now. And yet I'm about to go up for seconds. Taking commissions ahead of time for Baltimore worked so well that I'm going to do it again for the New York Comic Con next month. (I can't seem to get anything done at shows, anyway.) If you're interested in getting on the list, please email me at NYCC2012@paolorivera.com. I probably won't be able to get to everyone, but I'll do all the commissions I can in the order they arrive. Same prices as usual.
Furthermore, everyone's been asking for a sketchbook for quite some time, so I'm going to try and get one done for the con. (No promises, though!) If we manage to get it finished, I'll be sure to announce it here.

ReplyDeleteThanks, Josué! They're painted in watercolor on paper, but it's pretty much all from my imagination. Sometimes I use a digital maquette if there's a particular lighting effect I'm looking for. I should probably do a time lapse one of these days.

DeleteI also vote to put the pressure on for a time lapse video. Actually, a video in real time would be even better since it's a convention piece and is quicker than a cover/interior page.
DeleteSome people refer to Gouache as Watercolor so I'm just hoping to get clarification; are you actually using watercolor for these or are you using gouache?

It's watercolor that I use for commissions, though I mostly use gouache like watercolor (i.e. thinly) when I'm painting something more involved. Thanks!
