TMNT. 2015. Gouache and acrylic on illustration board, 18 × 24″.

So... I actually painted this about a year ago, but it's finally seeing the light of day. I've been a Ninja Turtle fan since they arrived, fresh from the sewer, so this was a huge honor for me.

You can pre-order it here.

This print was made in conjunction with a sculpture series produced by Sideshow. Their artists and sculptors designed the look and gave me wonderful reference, including 3D ZBrush models to work from (which really made the difference on those shells).

If you're interested in the original art, please let Mark Hay at Splash Page Comic Art know. It will go on sale in a couple months. For more info on the print and sculpture, check out Sideshow.

  1. You caught both the look and the essence of the turtles in this image. I think it should have been you and Dave Raposa designing the turtles for the films. They wouldn't have been so pushed beyond their "roots".

    1. Thanks, Micah! The design credit should go to the Sideshow sculptors... I basically just painted what they designed. And didn't Rapoza work on the TMNT movie? I know he did Bebop.
