YOUNG ONES POSTER. 2014. Gouache, watercolor, and acrylic on illustration board, 16 × 24″. |
I've posted a few details of this poster on Twitter, but I figured it's time to show the whole thing on the blog. I got this gig when the director, Jake Paltrow, saw my Iron Man 3 poster at his sister's place (she happened to play Pepper Potts). There was a chance that it would be used as the theatrical poster, but it was not to be, at least in the States. I'll have to save the process post for a later date, but it was painted in much the same way as my other painted work. And yes, I painted those lens flares!
Your art is adictive!.... in a good way of course...=^)
ReplyDeleteDude... how did you do the lenses flare especially those spots? Did you mask it off early in the process? Or for the spots did you get crazy and drop a little bleach on it?
ReplyDeleteNope, just painted it. The trick is to do the color study in Photoshop, then print it out and match the color. The only place I needed a little post-production help was on the blue on the left and right of the sun. Couldn't get back to the white of the illustration board.
ReplyDeleteNice. I know it always comes down to good planning but still impressive knowing you didn't need to mask off anything. Also thanks for the detail shot of the gunman's hands.
