Iron Man. 2011. Acryla Gouache on a comic cover, 7 × 10.5″. |
I finished this recently, though it was from last year's con. I don't normally do fully-rendered painting on comic covers, but since I was able to take this home with me, I used acrylic paint, which has a lot more coverage power (as compared to watercolor). Red metal is fun to paint. Yep.
you're really good with acrylic painting. just to ask, what is commonly used in comic cover when coloring?

Thanks, Andrew. It all depends on the personal preference of the artist. I generally use gouache with acrylic embellishments, but I use all acrylic when I have to paint on certain surfaces. At conventions, I use nothing but watercolors.
